Traveler's Checks: Members can purchase American Express Travelers Checks with a fee of just 1%.

Wire Transfers: Security Service offers 24-hour service on fund transfers via bank wires, credit union wires, or Western Union Commercial Money Orders. You can also receive bank and credit union wires into your account.

Money Orders: Security Service members can purchase individual money orders up to $1,000 each.

Direct Deposit of Federal Payments

Legislation has recently been passed (Public Law 104-134) that mandates Electronic Funds Transfer for all Federal payments, including Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

All new applicants for Social Security and SSI who have a savings or checking account will be paid by direct deposit. Anyone who currently receives their Social Security of SSI benefit by mail is also encouraged to take advantage of direct deposit. By January 1, 1999, all federal payments will be made by direct deposit.

If you still have your federal payment mailed to you, call the Social Security Administration today and let your check make the trip to the credit union, so you don't have to. Direct Deposit saves you time, money and worries.
